Leaving, as the BA flight to London does, at "Oh my God! o'clock" in the morning, the most you'll see again, is the lights of delta villages &, perhaps, Alexandria, but there's no guarantee as to which side of the latter you'll be routed by, so no way of recommending the best side of the aircraft to sit on. Normally the routing will take you over the various pyramid fields & the, very old, Islamic city the pilots do tend to tell you about the former, so there are some photo opportunities there. On the way back down to Cairo, again, try to sit on the left hand side of the aircraft (as you face forward). You may find the cabin crew are strict with the turn off all cameras & other portable devices for take off & landing rule, so photo opportunities could be pretty slim on the BA flight at these times.Īs has been commented, on the flight up to Luxor, there is little other than desert to see, until you cross the Nile & come into land at which point you'll see the river, followed by more desert. Gives a pretty good idea of what a vast place it is. At night, sit on the left hand side of the plane (looking forward from your seat), as you fly in to Cairo if only because you'll be able to see the lights of the city & the Nile, as you come in to land.
